CTC are once again involved in the LTA’s Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends for 2019 and we have planned a bumper weekend of tennis this year on the weekend of Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May! So read below and see how you can come and try tennis for free at Tennis Wales’ Club of the Year 2018!
Starting on the Saturday morning we will be offering 3 free Mini Tennis taster sessions for new Junior players to experience a coaching session at the Club. Our award winning Head Coach Jonathan Morgan will run the sessions as follows:
~ 10am-10:45am: Mini Red (6-8 years old)
~ 11am-11:45am: Mini Orange (8-10 years old)
~ 12pm-12:45pm: Mini Green (10-12 years old)
Children need to dress appropriately for sporting activity and the weather, while it is encouraged they also bring a drink. Whilst your child is enjoying their free taster session, parents and siblings are welcome to take to the courts and enjoy a game of tennis themselves! All tennis equipment (rackets, balls and coaching aids) for the taster sessions as well as family free play will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
During the Saturday afternoon, we will be running a range of free on-court activities, from 3pm to 6pm. These include our traditional open day favourites like the ball machine and target zone, plus some new skill stations and the return of beat the coach! All activities are suitable for players of all ages and abilities, so whether you’re attending with your family or friends come and enjoy the festivities as well as a BBQ and refreshments.
Finally, we will wrap up the weekend with a 2 hour free play session at the Club following the Caerphilly 2k and 10k races. Once you’ve finished supporting family and friends during the race and taking in the stalls and on-site activities, head over to CTC and play some tennis. All equipment will be provided for children and adults to enjoy a game of tennis, whether you decide to play for fun or make things more competitive!
Over the whole weekend, there will be plenty of chances to find out more about what we offer (whether it’s coaching lessons, social sessions, Family Fun Fridays, special events or our popular school holiday camps). There will also be special offers on our coaching programme and membership for new and returning players. Plus, we will be running a raffle with some great tennis and general prizes!
