CTC25 Tennis-thon – Review

Last weekend, we held our CTC25 Tennis-thon where coach Jon played tennis for 25 consecutive hours in order to raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre. And we can now reveal that we have raised £660! (Well surpassing our target of £500.)

– Firstly, congratulations to coach Jon for completing the challenge. A fantastic achievement on its own, but made even better knowing we raised £660 for Velindre.
– Secondly, we have to thank coach Andy for being present throughout the 25 hours to organise players, collect donations and even join in the playing at times.
– Thirdly, a massive thank you to all the players who got involved during their playing slots, including guests from Tennis Wales and Sport Caerphilly (who also supplied prize packs for Junior players that attended on Saturday) , our tennis leaders, players from the coaching groups, men’s and ladies team players, guest coach Wyn Lewis and our own coaches Andy and Kelsey.
– And last but by no means least, thank you to everyone who donated.

On completion of the event on the Sunday, we had one last celebration of our 25th anniversary season which was attended by more than 30 people. They not only supported coach Jon through the final hour, but also saw the unveiling of a commemorative plaque (which sits below the one we received when the Club first opened back in 1989) and enjoyed some light refreshments.
